What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen-induction therapy, is a semi-invasive procedure that has been used effectively for decades. This treatment can help treat wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, age spots, acne, rosacea, and pore size.

The results? A total rejuvenation of the skin with improved tone and texture.

Microneedling involves a hand-held device consisting of tiny surgical-grade needles designed to puncture the skin. The needles create small holes in the skin’s surface. Much like pixel laser resurfacing, Microneedling works by activating our skin’s natural healing abilities. New cells are created at a rapid rate and collagen production is increased to “heal” the small injuries to the skin, thereby smoothing and toning the overall appearance.

What is the Treatment Like?

Microneedling can be uncomfortable, but it is not painful. The sensation is similar to a quick sting or small bug bite.

A topical numbing cream can be applied to the skin to ease discomfort. Hyaluronic acid serum may also be applied to help the Microneedling device glide over the skin. A typical Microneedling session lasts approximately 60 minutes.

Results are seen after a few days with full results after two weeks, and most patients require three to six treatments administered once a month, depending on the area treated and the results you are trying to achieve.

What areas can be treated?

Microneedling treatments are for all skin types and can be used on all parts of the body: face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back. Our trained Microneedling skincare professional will customize the treatment for your unique skin conditions and needs.

How many treatments will I need?

Microneedling typically requires 3 to 6 treatments 6 weeks apart.

Does Microneedling hurt?

Before the treatment, we use a topical numbing cream to minimize discomfort. During the treatment, you will feel a vibration and a slight prickling sensation but overall, the treatment should be comfortable. Immediately after the treatment, your skin can feel warm and sensitive to the touch, similar to a mild sunburn.

How quickly will I see results?

You will start to see visible results a few days after treatments, with full results still visible a few months after you have completed your treatment plan.

What is the post-care procedure like?

Downtime is minimal however we recommend avoiding makeup for 1-2 days after your treatment. Skin will feel tight and dry, therefore a hydrating serum and SPF should be applied frequently.
